To celebrate the festive season, Lancôme launched Follow the Star — an emotionally rich WebAR experience combining Parisian magic, luxury storytelling, and immersive technology.
As users opened their Lancôme Holiday gift box, a luminous 3D star emerged from the packaging, inviting them on a poetic journey to the top of the Eiffel Tower. There, they were greeted by a breathtaking, animated panorama of Paris by night, wrapped in golden light and festive charm — all rendered in real-time augmented reality from their smartphone.
This experience was designed for maximum accessibility (WebAR, no app required), making it easy to scale globally. It was deployed in over 100 countries, and met with outstanding success:
